QR Ordering Checklist for Small Restaurants & Cafés
How to test table identity, kitchen routing and order-to-bill reconciliation.
Test the whole journey before putting a QR on a table
- Create two uniquely identified tables. Avoid duplicate table labels and confirm each QR points to the correct table.
- Open a table QR on a guest phone and submit a small test order.
- Verify it appears in the merchant Order Command Center under the correct table.
- If a kitchen station is enabled, verify the order actually appears there; a “sent” notification alone is insufficient.
- Accept/prepare the order and check guest status changes on a second device.
- Compare the customer's cart, live table total and final bill line by line, including tax.
- Only after a successful end-to-end test, activate real table QRs.
Illustrative reconciliation
Table 04 has two accepted orders: ₹205 and ₹315. The bill should include ₹520 of items before any correctly configured tax or adjustment. If the bill displays only ₹315, stop and reconcile rather than assuming the other order was paid.
Restaurant modules have had reported order-mapping and kitchen visibility issues in testing. Treat this as a verification checklist, not a claim that every environment is already validated.
